Yesterday, I seriously almost killed a woman in the supermarket. I don't really know what happened but I felt really awkward for about 2 hours afterwards. Somehow, me standing near her caused interference with her pacemaker. I wasn't even carrying a cell phone on me. Was it my magnetic personality? Was it a crazy-ass old lady? Could be all of the above. Either way when she asked me to back away and started huffing and weezing I was a little nervous. What if she croaked right there and it was my fault? I'm not sure I could deal with that on my concious. Luckily, she was able to drive off in her little scooter and everything was all good.
Note to old people. Don't leave your gated communities with out a care-giver with you. Seriously. You can't wipe your ass by yourself, what makes you think you can shop at a supermarket and not have a heart attack.
One more thing. If she had a pacemaker, don't you think the last place you want to go is a supermarket with all the frickin' lasers and wireless crap they have there? Self check-out, lady? Get real. Ok, now I don't feel so bad. She put herself in harms way. :)
